Halloween 2012

My kids love Halloween and finding fun costumes to wear.  Some years I'm very creative (see Halloween 2009--Joost, Grace and Kate were the three musketeers and I made their costumes).  This year, I didn't have time for creativity and so we decided to choose from what we had around the house.  It worked out well.  Kate would have been a princess no matter what.  Grace and I were decent at pulling things from the house that worked for her cowboy costume.  And Joost was benevolent enough to wear his already used knight costume.

The cow costume that Henry wore is a classic, however.  All of the kids have worn that costume in their first years of treat-or-treating.  It was bitter sweet to see him in it and know that it would be the last time it was worn.

Paxtang is a great place to trick-or-treat.  Our neighbors are all so friendly and the borough does the night well with lit streets, a live band (where the drummer looks like a skeleton) and even the mayor is at her home passing out candy (really great stuff for the Paxtang kids and dum-dum lolly pops for all "outsiders").

Of course my kids and their cousins come home with enough candy to last them until their Easter baskets in the spring.
