Props for Pottery Barn

We bought a new media armoire a few months ago from Pottery Barn.  About a month or two after we received it, I realized that one of the hinges was missing a small part.  I called costumer service to see if it would be possible to replace the hinge.

After a few days, they got back to me and told me that PB does not make that piece of furniture, so it is impossible to replace the hinge unless they could get it from the original company that made the piece.

I didn't hear back from them and assumed it was a lost cause.

Yesterday, I received an unexpected call from Pottery Barn asking to set up a delivery time.  I couldn't imagine what they were talking about and so I told them they must be mistaken.  She said that she wasn't, they were to drop off a media armoire.  I told her we'd received it months ago.  "No," she said, "this is a replacement for the one that has a missing part."

Well, to say the least, I was shocked!  I'm also impressed.  It also gave me a good laugh--a new armoire because of a small part missing on a hinge!

The 2nd birthday picture

I have made it a tradition to have a picture taken of each of the children on their 2nd birthdays.  It started quite by accident.  I happened to take Joost's 2nd year picture in a cute sailor suit that was passed along to us.  I loved the picture so much, and when, by accident, I had a sailor dress for Grace, the tradition began.

All about turning two

Birthdays are such fun for a child.  They're great even when you're turning two and won't remember it by the time you celebrate three years.

So it was for Henry.  He had a fun birthday and celebrated it with all of his family.  He opened gifts--in the morning from us, and in the afternoon from family.

He especially loves balls right now and enjoyed getting his own basketball court in the kitchen.

He enjoyed his grandparents gift of a Phillies hat and a baseball glove and ball.  What a beautiful and flawless  pitch he has.

We're quite certain that Kate is sure to be an outfielder.

Family came to visit and celebrate.

And, of course, two candles were blown out.

All in all, Henry enjoyed his special day.

And we enjoy him.  He is such a true blessing to our lives, and we praise God for placing him in our family.  He makes us laugh, and he always finds a way to make the best of things.  We pray that God will bless him with salvation and that he will, one day, be a man of God that follows Him steadfastly for all of his life.

We love you Henry!

Pennsylvania State Capitol

Gracie's 1st grade class took a field trip to the State Capitol Building today.  They toured the building, and even had the opportunity to sit in a court room and pretend to be the various positions and jobs that usually spend their times there.
