Memorial Day 2013

Today I am very thankful for all the men and women who have died to protect our country, who selflessly served to preserve my freedom.

We enjoyed spending Memorial Day with the vB family.

With our kids included, there are 17 cousins.  Joost and 3 other cousins, who were born the same summer, are the oldest of the lot.  Needless to say, there's lots of energy, lots of dirt (especially when holidays are spend at Jeff's mom's horse farm), and lots of fun.

This is our first family picture with McKenna included.  She is a wonderful addition to our family.

Bravery

I am brave

I am brave
because my little cousin Henry
hits me with a light saber
and it really hurts
but I don't cry.

Shepherd Group 2012-2013

God blessed us again this year with faithful, godly friends in the Bible study we host twice a month.  Through it, God has given us close relationships with people which, most likely, would not have happened on their own.  I thank God for these people.

Afternoon tea

Gracie's 1st grade class has a Fun Friday every week.  This week I held an afternoon tea for the class.  It included tea cups and saucers, sugar cubes, finger sandwiches, and scones.  I even taught them how to properly serve tea (sugar and cream in the cup before tea is poured).  I wasn't sure what the boys in her class would think, but they all seemed to enjoy their tea.  Some were proper and polite (one boy even pulled out the English accent and sipped his tea with the pinky raised), and there were also tables who weren't quite as genteel.  (I won't mention any names, but I think the pictures will speak for themselves.)

McKenna

I am happy to announce that my first niece on the Bosworth side has been born today.  Baby McKenna has joined the family--born to my brother, Andrew, and my sister-in-law, Rachel.

Welcome McKenna!

A new neice

Today my brother had his first daughter.  Two boys, and they were hoping for a girl.  Little McKenna arrived this morning.  We're all happy to meet her.
