Easter 2013

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4

We praise God for the salvation given through Jesus's death on the cross, and His resurrection from death!

We spent Easter with Jeff's family.

After the church service, we went to Jeff's sister's house for dinner.  Since Beth (our hostess) doesn't like ham, Jeff's mom thought we should do a Mexican dinner.  At first I was wary,  but I really enjoyed it.  Who knows.  It might become a vB tradition.

Unbelievable!

Reporting from Paxtang. This just in. It's Sunday morning.  Church starts at 8:15.  The children got ready in record breaking time.  There was even enough time to take some pictures.  You heard it here first.

a new nephew

Jeff's sister and brother-in-law are currently over in China to pick up their adopted son, Jun Jun.  He's legally blind, and they're hoping to be able to give him some medical care that he might not have been able to get in China.  They're bringing him home on Good Friday and we're all very excited to meet him.

winter birds

I have some bird feeders right outside our kitchen windows, and I love watching the winter birds.  The other day, I asked Kate, when I'm old and too weak to go out regularly, if she could  find me a comfortable chair and set it in front of a large window so I could watch the birds.  She looked at me with a frustrated face and said, "Why do I have to do everything?!"
