Kate's preschool graduation
This picture is with her teacher, Mrs. Green, and her best friend in the class, Lillian.
It worked out well that yesterday Grace and Joost finished school and were able to join Kate for her celebration. There were cookies afterwards which added to their joy of being there.
We are so blessed to have Kate as a part of our family and pray God's great blessing on her life.

Family pictures 2014
We've never had really good family pictures taken. We've done them in the studio, but they were never great. We've finally had them done by a real-deal photographer (Jonathan Stough, in case you're interested in finding a good camera man.) Here are a few of my favorites...

Beep-beep
Did I ever tell you that my son is a beep-beep boy? Oh, right. You probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Henry's speech is improving, but some words are still difficult...like construction vehicle. Yet, that's what he loves to play with. To deal with this communication struggle, he's made his own word to refer to a construction vehicle of any type. You can be a dump truck, an excavator, a back hoe, a cement mixer--it doesn't matter. In his dictionary, if you make a beeeeep-beeeeep-beeeeep sound when you back up, you're a beep beep.

Mother's Day 2014
Mother's Day is always a great day! I love letting Mom know how wonderful she is. I hate to brag, but I'm pretty sure I have the BEST MOM IN ALL THE WORLD! Sorry to be so emphatic, but it's true. I hope you all showed a bit of love to your moms, too.

The Hobbit
So, it's that time of the year. All the class projects and book reports are being turned in. Gracie has her Little House in the Big Woods, and, now, Joost's class read The Hobbit. They had a party to celebrate the book, and I enjoyed seeing how the kids dressed for it...
There's first Beorn and a Warg (an evil wolf).
Joost and a few of the others came as elves. (I think the bow and arrow had a lot of impetus for he and his buddy chose that character. :)
And then there's good old Bilbo Baggins.
Gandalf was a big hit.
And then, we can't forget J. R. R. Tolkien.

Little House in the Big Woods
I always enjoy showing off my kids hard work. Grace's class just read through Little House in the Big Woods and were assigned the project of creating Laura Ingall's log cabin. Gracie's put hours and hours into her house. She did an excellent job!

random
There are some pictures I have that I like but don't really have anything great to write about. No stories, just pictures that make me smile. Since this might end up being my long-term photo album, I want to put these pictures in. So here they are--my two cute munchkins and my mom's first "selfie". :)
