4th grade field trip--Philadelphia Museum of Art

Having lived in the Art Museum district and loving Philly so much, I had to chaperon this field trip. :)

Joost's 4th grade class made a trip to Philadelphia today to visit the Art Museum to specifically visit the arms and armor exhibit because of their studies of the medieval age in history class.    I like the art, but I wasn't sure what I'd think of the armor.  Surprisingly, it was a great exhibit...and, of course, the boys loved it the most.

My dear mother's birthday

I have to say that I have about the best mom in the world. I'm not exagerating. She has loved, helped, supported, and encouraged me through ever stage of my life--during the up days and the down. I am beyond blessed to be her daughter. Today we celebrated her birthday. She'll hate that I posted this picture, but how can I pass over a day that is so important?

(Also, forgive my horrible, terrible, no good, very bad cake.  It tasted fine, but it sure is ugly!)

Kate's 5th birthday

Kate has turned five years old--can you believe it?!

We celebrated her birthday with family two days before her actual birthday.  It was so nice to have them all over and rejoice in another year that God has blessed Kate with.
