Bosworth family vacation 2013

This summer was our year to vacation with my side of the family.  We went down to Duck in the Outer Banks.  It started out very chilly in the week which caused discoveries of dead turtles, walks on the beach, and (much to my delight) the ability to wear long sleeves with shorts.  (It's a look you see in catalogs, but rarely have the opportunity to pull off on the east coast. :)

One evening we spent crabbing--I'm not sure a single crab was caught by us, but the two 12-year-olds near us didn't seem to have any trouble.  They had crabs biting as soon as their string was lowered into the water.

We did end up with some warm days which gave us long days on the beach.  Duck has improved a lot over the years and offers fun shops and a board walk on the bay side which I particularly enjoy in the evenings.

(There were a few other fun pictures from our day touring lighthouses, but they're stuck on Gracie's broken camera.  If I figure out a way to get them off, there may be a few more pictures added.)

piano camp 2013

State Street Academy of Music runs several music camps each summer.  Joost and Grace's ages overlapped this summer into one camp, and it was an enjoyable week for them to have fun with piano and music that included learning about it in ways that didn't involve sitting on a piano bench.  We all enjoyed watching them preform at the end of the week, too.

Our 12th anniversary

Today is our 12 anniversary.  This weekend, Jeff's mom surprised us with the treat of spending the weekend just the two of us.  She watched the kids, and we went to Philly, the city we love so much.  We spent yesterday walking around the center city and enjoying time together.  Last night, we stayed in the Hyatt at the Belleview.  This morning we had, quite possibly, had the absolute best breakfast we've ever eaten in our entire lives.  Their Sunday brunch is amazing.

Afterwards, we headed to Tenth Presbyterian, the church we attended while we lived in Philadelphia.  To our surprise, we ran into some dear friends of ours.  Angie and Jamin still live in the area, so we were pretty sure we'd see them.  The surprise was that we also saw Sebastien and Sara who now live in Tennessee.  They were also visiting the city for the weekend.  It was an extra treat for the weekend to see old friends.

The best part of this weekend, of course, is celebrating 12 years with my wonderful husband who God so kindly gave me.  Jeff is an amazing man in so many ways.  I love him with all my heart and will until my last breath.
